From Film Festival Discovery to Digital Audiences — MIFF + MPPLUS
MIFF doesn’t want a filmmaker’s journey to end after one screening. MPPLUS is an optional pathway that can help selected stories find audiences beyond the festival.
The journey
Filmmakers → Festival → Audiences → Industry → MPPLUS → Opportunity
Festival consideration
Your film is considered for the MIFF 2027 official selection and awards.
Festival + MPPLUS consideration
Optionally, selected films may also be considered for MPPLUS.
MPPLUS-only consideration
Where currently offered, stories may be considered for MPPLUS directly.
You keep your rights
- Filmmakers retain copyright.
- MPPLUS consideration is optional.
- Submitting to MIFF does not automatically stream your film.
- Submission does not transfer ownership.
- Any streaming/distribution requires a separate agreement.
If a licensing arrangement is agreed
Any potential licensing terms may cover territory, duration, exclusivity or non-exclusivity, revenue or payment arrangements, promotional rights and availability windows — agreed separately, case by case.
MIFF never promises revenue, a distribution deal, or guaranteed licensing.
Beyond the screen
MPPLUS supports African film streaming and independent African cinema by helping selected films reach digital audiences after the festival.
